Lauren Puryear is a dynamic nonprofit executive, community advocate, mental health clinician, and transformational leader dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families across the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia region. With more than a decade of leadership experience, she specializes in strengthening human service organizations, expanding access to care, and building programs that create lasting, measurable change. Lauren holds a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling, and a Ph.D. in Psychology. She is also currently pursuing her MBA, further strengthening her ability to merge compassionate service with strong business strategy and sustainable organizational leadership. Her academic background, combined with lived experience and frontline leadership, gives her a uniquely holistic approach to service, systems, and community impact.

As an executive leader in the human service field, Lauren is known for turning struggling programs into thriving, person-centered services while championing staff development, compliance excellence, and operational growth. Her leadership style blends strategy with heart, ensuring that both the people supported and the professionals serving them are valued, empowered, and positioned for success.

Beyond her professional role, Lauren is the founder of For the Love of Others, a grassroots community initiative providing food, clothing, holiday support, and essential resources to families facing hardship. She first captured worldwide attention after setting a personal goal to provide 30,000 meals to individuals experiencing food insecurity before her 30th birthday — a mission she accomplished through strategic extreme couponing. That viral effort grew into an ongoing movement that has since served hundreds of thousands through food pantries, seasonal giving programs, and large-scale community outreach events rooted in dignity and compassion.

Lauren’s work is grounded in the belief that true leadership is about service. l and everything we do should be done in love. Whether advocating for vulnerable populations, mentoring youth, or creating pathways to opportunity, she is committed to leaving every space, system, and person better than she found them.
