Katrina M. Jones, MS, PHR, SHRM-CP is what happens when unshakeable conviction meets extraordinary skill, a human resources executive who doesn’t just build better organizations, she builds better futures for the people inside them. Born in Barbados and raised in New York, Katrina serves as Senior Vice President of Human Resources for a $1 billion nonprofit organization, leading human capital strategy across seven states at the intersection of healthcare, community services, and equity-driven impact. She is known for delivering under pressure, leading with purpose, and building systems that are as fair as they are effective.
Her work centers on aligning workforce strategy with operational reality. Katrina is often brought into moments that require more than planning, periods of rapid expansion, organizational strain, or critical transition, where systems must be built, corrected, or scaled quickly. She has led large-scale hiring efforts under compressed timelines, restructured HR functions to operate as strategic drivers, and implemented workforce frameworks that support both growth and accountability.
Katrina contributes to national conversations on workforce strategy and leadership through her involvement with the Forbes Human Resources Council and the Harvard Business Review Advisory
Council. She also serves as a moderator and panelist across professional stages and forums. She has completed training under the National Academy of Human Resources CHRO Academy, was
recognized twice by Crain’s New York Business as a Notable Black Leader and Executive, and in 2022, she was one of only two HR leaders in the country named to the HR Executive Honor Roll.
Katrina’s most enduring impact is not found in policies written or strategies executed. It is found in the more than 40 individuals she has mentored over the years and guided through college admissions, leadership roles, advanced degrees, and the quiet, life-changing work of believing in themselves. Her approach to mentorship is direct and intentional, focused on building capability, confidence, and ownership. As a committed mentor, she leads with the knowledge that the most lasting thing she will ever build is not a system or a strategy. It is a person who walks taller because
she believed in them first.
