Q & A with Germaine

Mr. Moody you’re incredibly successful, what is the main thing you believe contributed to your success?

“I entered into a partnership with God. I remember praying, I told God that I accept the fact He alone knows what’s best for me, and therefore I’d like to partner with Him to show me, guide me, instruct me, create and build through me, and use me for whatever purpose and calling I was born for. He’s been doing just that ever since. So the partnership continues.”

Is there a specific thing you’ve had to overcome in your life to get to where you are today?

“Absolutely. It was my early belief that I needed people around me to support me in order for me to be successful, in order for my dreams to even matter. I found that to be 100% unnecessary and a complete lie. For years I waited on support until I realized it wasn’t coming. From that point, it was all me or nothing. I had to become self-motivated, self-disciplined, self-inspired. Once we make a decision to be our own support system, everything and anything can be accomplished.”

What’s a mistake you made that others could learn from?

“Oh I’ve made tons of mistakes, more than I could remember. The big one that stands out would be me spending too much time with people that had no plans, no vision, no direction, no purpose. All that time wasted, uninspired, and drifting to nowhere. You really do become what you surround yourself with, so I changed my circle, and I focused on befriending higher thinking and higher productivity people. Things inside of you change when you come into contact with doers, not just dreamers.”

Who do you learn from or look up to?

“I’m always learning from everyone, especially those that have already accomplished what I desire to. Authors, entrepreneurs, artists, motivational speakers, ministers, all kinds of books, my friends, my brother, myself. I maintain that spirit of curiosity, so everyday I’m ready to soak up new things. Learning is so exciting. To not know is the scariest thing to me. I’m not sure if I look up to anyone in particular other than God, but I’m inspired by anyone that continues to push themselves forward when life and people try to destroy them.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out?

“By all means, please find a mentor. Whether it’s someone you can communicate with, read their books, watch their videos, listen to their podcasts, whatever the case, tap into someone that can teach you, and help you figure things out along the way, because lack of knowledge, information, and know-how is detrimental. And most importantly, self-educate yourself. Learn what you need to know.

If you were starting over today, what would you do differently?

“I would save a lot more money. In business, especially when starting, there are so many unexpected expenses that can come up. Get into the habit of putting money aside because life happens, and you’ll need it. I’d also study a lot more. I came into the game head first and just ran with it, and I’m still running, learning to walk. The more you know, the better. At some point you want to go from the hustle and grind, to the cruise and flow.

What would you do if you had to build something with no money and no contacts?

“I believe the majority of our success revolves around self-awareness, so first I would sit myself down and think about how can start to build it with what I’m already good at and with what I already have. Then I’d gather information from online resources and seek to connect with someone who can offer advice, help, or who might be interested in building it together as partners. I’d utilize every resource I could find and build it brick by brick, day by day, seven days a week.”

What does success mean to you now, versus when you started?

“Success right now is peace of mind, maintaining the best health possible, and knowing that I’ve done something to help a lot of people and to make the world a happier place. It’s also knowing that I’ve forgiven myself and forgiven others, and understanding we’re all flawed as we are bombarded daily with the pressure of perfection. At the core, it means the same to me, which is obtaining access and influence so I’d have the ability to help heal the world.”
