Q& A with Nakisha.
Nakisha, why did you make the choice to choose a greater and higher path for your life?
“I’ve never been one to settle. Even as a young girl, I was a go-getter—some might have called me hardheaded, but really, I was determined. I stood up for myself and always knew right from wrong. When it came to my career, a few years ago I woke up and realized I wanted more—more for myself and more for my children. You reach a point where running the rat race no longer feels fulfilling, where ignoring your own dreams and letting fear or society’s expectations hold you back just isn’t an option. Eventually, I decided: enough. I was going to go for it. I invested in my education, I worked relentlessly, and I surrounded myself with exceptional leaders and managers who challenged and inspired me. That combination—the grit, the learning, and the mentorship—was the triple threat that turned my dreams into reality.”
