Dr. Don Wilkins is an educator, author, speaker, and founder of Transformation 180, a national consulting firm focused on school turnaround and leadership development. Over the past 15 years, he has worked across major urban districts — including Chicago, Atlanta, and Pittsburgh — where he has coached school leaders, redesigned leadership frameworks, and guided struggling schools toward measurable improvement. He began his career as a paraprofessional and classroom teacher, experiences that grounded his belief in the power of mentorship, humility, and high expectations.
Dr. Wilkins is known for his strategic systems thinking, values-based coaching, and his ability to build alignment across multi-generational teams. His debut book, Barriers to Breakthrough: 13 Strategies for Effective Leadership in the Multigenerational Workplace, is used as a training tool in leadership development programs. His work has been featured in multiple media outlets and he is a recipient of the Black Excellence Award by the State of Black Learning. In addition to his consulting, he serves as a voice of inspiration and strategy on the Barriers to Breakthrough Leadership podcast, where he shares lessons on transformation, equity, and building strong organizational cultures.
