Caroline Flanagan is The Black Lawyers' Coach, on a mission to bring greater diversity, equity and inclusion to the legal industry by increasing the number of black lawyers who stay in the profession and progress to leadership.
A certified coach, Caroline is also an international keynote speaker, host of the Legal Imposters Podcast and a recognised expert on Imposter Syndrome.
In addition, Caroline has authored two books: Business Book of the Year finalist BE THE FIRST: People of Colour, Imposter Syndrome and the Struggle to Succeed in a White World (2022) and BabyProof Your Career: The Secret to Balancing Work and Family So You Can Enjoy It All (2015).
As black woman from a low-income background, Caroline learned to navigate the challenges of being the only one and achieve success in a white corporate world. A magic circle trained ex-City finance lawyer, Caroline combines industry knowledge, thought leadership and lived experience to elevate and empower others to fulfil their true potential.
Caroline has had the pleasure of working with many of the world’s leading law firms, including: Allen & Overy, White & Case, Mayer Brown, Latham & Watkins, Kirkland & Ellis, Ropes & Gray, Ashurst, Eversheds Sutherland, Norton Rose Fulbright and Weil, Gotshal & Manges.
