Wacinque Amistad Kaizen Bemende is featured in "Veterans in Focus", a year-long exhibit at the Wyoming Museum in Laramie, WY, and Internet Archive story OH 3633, Wacinque Amistad Kaizen BeMende by Wyoming State Archives. In this Veterans in Focus Oral History, BeMende recounts his 40 years of service across the Marine Corps, Air Force Reserve, and Army, retiring as an E-7. Originally enlisting in 1975 to become a fireman, he instead spent most of his career as a flying nurse-medic, deploying for Desert Storm (1990) and Operation Restore Hope in Somalia (1993), where he assisted wounded soldiers from the Black Hawk Down incident. BeMende credits his Marine Corps foundation with instilling crucial attention to detail. He now serves as a Marine Health and Wealth Educator, focusing on his legacy of creating a comprehensive financial training tool and advocating for "Spit Day" on September 19th to encourage DNA donation for identifying unknown soldiers.
